Town Council Vacancy

Due to the resignation of Adam Hergert, a vacancy has occurred on the Town of Fairview Town Council, and the current Councilors will appoint an individual to fill the vacancy. The term of this appointment shall be from the date of appointment by the Council, which is anticipated to be August 12, 2026; and shall continue until December 31, 2027, or until a permanent replacement is duly elected and qualified, as this seat is required to be placed on the ballot in the 2027 general election, pursuant to MCA 7-4-4112. To be eligible for the vacancy, a person must be a US Citizen, 18 years old and a resident of Town of Fairview for at least 60 days prior to appointment.

 

Persons interested in being appointed to fill the vacant term should submit a letter indicating the reasons for their interest and describing their relevant background. Letters of interest should be hand delivered to the Town Clerk's Office at 318 S Central Ave, e-mailed to cityhall@fairviewmt.gov or mailed to the Town of Fairview c/o City Clerk, PO Box 426, Fairview, MT 59221.  The Town of Fairview Council will interview applicants in August and are scheduled to make the appointment at the August 12, 2026 regular City Council meeting.

 

Letters of interest will be accepted until 5pm on Friday, July 29, 2026, or until filled.
