The Council understands that comments made by an employee of the Town of Fairview on social media are a serious matter. We have heard the concerns and emotions expressed by members of the public. We understand why people are seeking answers. The Town is also seeking answers. An investigation is underway.

We cannot make commentary on specific elements and facts not related to an ongoing investigation. We can say that the employee who made the comments is currently not on active duty. Our limited public comments should not be interpreted as a lack of concern or recognition of the incident. It is our responsibility to ensure that the investigation proceeds objectively and without interference.

Any comments made by any Council Members other than this statement are the personal opinions of that individual Council Member and do not reflect the position of the Town of Fairview.
